Archive for February 2010

This week, the transfer of .CO domains administration has finally started, the old administrator of the .CO ccTLD (Universidad de Los Andes) ended their responsibility for what was known as the exclusive for Colombian TLDs.

Starting February 7th, transfers of old domains ending in .co is no longer done through the www.nic.co website (previously managed by UniAndes), owners of these domains now have to go through private companies to renew their domains.

The next important date in the process, is March 1st, 2010. Starting this date, the “Grandfathering” process will start, in which domain holders previous to July 30th, 2008 will be eligible to secure their domain in the new TLD.
