Key Dates

The process of registering .CO domains has been carefully conceived as an staged international process. It has been divided into three phases as follows:

March 1 to March 31, 2010: .CO domain registration is open to holders of matching country code domains (“example.xx.CO”) registered before June 30, 2008. This is intended for Colombian organizations to secure their domain names in the .CO era.

April 1 to April 20, 2010 (Local Trademarks): .CO registration will be open for trademark holders with domain names registered in Colombia before June 30, 2008 and that match the desired .CO domain. This is intended for Colombian companies to secure their trademarks in the .CO era.

April 26 to June 10, 2010 (Global Sunrise): .CO registration will be open for trademark holders with domain names registered worldwide before June 30, 2008 and that match the desired .CO domain. This is intended for companies to secure their trademarks in the .CO era.

June 21 to July 13, 2010 (Land Rush): .CO domain registration requests will be open to anyone interested in .CO domain names with high commercial value. Contesting domain name requests made during this phase will go to auction.

July 20, 2010 (General Availability): .CO domain registration will be open to anyone worldwide, on a first come, first served basis.
